C4 Has a New Name

You may have noticed C4’s new name as you’ve navigated through this web site. The change from the “Canadian Chlorine Coordinating Committee” to the “Canadian Chlorine Chemistry Council” reflects a transition of the group’s focus, from primarily promoting research around chlorine issues to performing a communications and advocacy role. This reflects two growing work priorities: Canada is undertaking a major review of all chemicals, including chlorinated substances; and secondly, our involvement within the World Chlorine Council (WCC).

What hasn’t changed is our mission, to “facilitate dialogue and promote coordinated action in Canada among key stakeholders in order to bring about a balanced view of chlorine chemistry to enable society to make informed, science-based decisions on issues involving chlorine” or our vision, the “responsible and sustainable use of chlorine chemistry resulting in societal benefit recognized by the public.” Watch this web site for more updates that promote solutions through chlorine chemistry.
